Well, it’s the end of August, and it seems – at least here at the HandyGames HQ in Bavaria – that summer is almost over. Not that it ever arrived in the first place! But! This did not stop us from putting together a fine letter of exquisite news from our sacred halls.

The gaming industry continues to grow, but German games are hardly represented internationally. One exception is Through the Darkest of Times, which is attracting worldwide attention for its storyline. Games can certainly convey norms, values, and views – and thus become a valuable cultural asset at the beginning of the 21st century.

The Wild Gentlemen is an up-and-coming game studio with a versatile team that prefers a wide variety of genres and displays a colorful diversity of ideas. With Chicken Police – Paint it RED!, they created one of our most successful titles!
The popular film-noir-inspired adventure of two headstrong chicken detectives is highly acclaimed internationally and has received top marks. The idea for Chicken Police was born from a very old YouTube video; the final style came from personal preferences and, of course, a lucky find.
Making Games tried to get to the root of the genesis of this game in an interesting interview with Bánk Varga from The Wild Gentlemen - and also carefully probed the future plans of the up-and-coming studio.

And to be honest, we totally understand. When we first got hold of the concept of defeating the silence we were amazed. And to see that this game is so well received makes us proud.
