Hello, all of you!
So Gamescom is getting nearer and nearer -and more and more of the big players are deciding not to attend this time. First Nintendo, then Activision Blizzard – now Sony… But why?
One reason might be the so-called Covid-Gap. Due to the pandemic, many big titles are postponed, simply because they are not ready to be released yet.
The other reason is simple. Costs. Due to recent global events we've all heard of and talked about ad nauseam, prices tend to move only one way - up. And when price tags everywhere are high, one needs to see where one can save one or two bucks. And fairs are on the pricey side. No wonder the trade fair appearances get ditched first.
There might be many other reasons, among them digitalization and fear of infection… but when it comes to Sony, I think the reason is far simpler.
How can they man a PlayStation booth when there are no PS5s available? I am dead sure this is the reason. 😉 *kidding

Townsmen VR wins The white Elephant
The White Elephant is a children's media prize awarded every year since 2001, as both a jury and audience prize. It honors selected productions from the fields of film, TV, and digital media that promote the development of children and young people and aim to raise the bar on quality. The audience's evaluation of the submitted productions is made and subsequently confirmed by numerous well-known personalities.
This year's award ceremony took place last Sunday, June 26th, and was moderated by Vanessa Meisinger (SUPER RTL) and Ben Blümel (KiKA).
We are very happy that we won in the category "Games" with Townsmen VR - the game convinced the audience and the jurors alike and won the coveted award! We thank everyone for this great opportunity!
Inside HandyGames – Insights to PERISH
Broadcasting live is merciless. No mistake is forgiven, and when something happens, everyone goes nuts. Well, not so our team here at HandyGames... Surely some of you who watched our interview stream with the creators of PERISH last week undoubtedly noticed that something didn't fit. I say. The reason was a somewhat outdated computer, which we have now solemnly retired and replaced with a worthy upgrade.
Nevertheless, the interview with Regan and Bret of ITEM42 was so informative that we would have hated not to show it. After editing the existing material, you can now watch the video in its entirety - and hopefully, have as much fun as we did.
Endling at The Guerrilla Collective
In its third year, the Guerrilla Collective presents new games, gameplay updates for ongoing projects, and trailers. A Steam event page picks all featured games in a collection, and interested players can play available demos or even place pre-orders.
We chose Endling – Extinction is Forever for this year's show because, with its story AND its look and feel, the title has already generated significant advance attention! We're really looking forward to the release of this game, which is sure to cause great emotions starting July 19!
